ABOUT

With twenty years of professional practice, João Pedro Marnoto has devoted his work to Photography and Video, while using it towards a means of personal exploration, with his most personal projects reflecting on issues of identity and the human condition within an environmental, sociological and personal perspective.

Knowing the crucial role that visual Storytelling has in the communication of any entity, from classical printing through the current reality of digital platforms, he has been collaborating alongside a group of dedicated, multidisciplinary and experienced professionals. Working from concept, through content creation, all the way to its full execution, MediaUtopia is a creative platform born of the will to do better, to aim higher, to reach further.

 

Working with clients such as The New York Times, Unesco, Douro Museum and Graham's Wines, and received among others, awards such as

Best Portuguese Documentary at Cine'Eco International Film Festival and two vídeo Gold Awards at Graphis Advertising Annual (USA), it is the belief, passion and dedication that makes it possible to create works of excellence, in a vision that thrives always to be ambitious and unique, and thus honor all the placed trust.

• II Edition Douro Entrepreneur Award – 2º place/ Video category with “Nine Months of Winter and Three of Hell” (Work-in-progress) presented at Expo Milan 2015, UNESCO Regional Bureau for Science and Culture in Europe, Italy.

• 8th ART&TUR - International Tourism Film Festival 2015 - 1st Prize "Wine and Gastronomy" category for "Porto Ferreira - Luxury of Time”.

• London International Creative Competition - Honorable Mention for film "Porto Ferreira - Luxury of Time”.

2014

• Best Portuguese documentary with "Faith in Donkeys" at Cine'Eco International Environmental Film Festival , Seia, Portugal.

João Pedro Marnoto, born in 1975 in Porto, Portugal, after completing his photography degree in the UK, has devoted his work in over twenty years of professional practice within the grounds of documentary storytelling imagery, while using it towards a means of personal exploration. Both an excuse and a tool that allows him to live and explore meaningfully the many adventures and challenges that life offers, and extending his tools of trade from still into moving image, his approach intents to be an intimate exercise of awareness and consciousness, with his projects reflecting on issues of identity and the human condition within an environmental, sociological, personal and human perspective.
